Success Stories

Jeffery R. Grant is a student athlete who dedicates himself to being a model student. He commands the respect and admiration of his peers as evidenced by his election as form monitor (class monitor). According to Jeffery’s form (homeroom) teacher, he is a mature, polite, and well-mannered student who displays excellent leadership and teamwork skills. He completed and passed nine subjects during the Caribbean Examination Council (CSEC) 2018 exams, excelling in English and Principles of Business.

Abbigail T. Francis is an exemplary student who has earned both the principal’s distinguished Honor Roll, as well as the Merit Award for her excellent academic achievements. Abbigail’s teachers describe her as a pleasant, well-mannered student who has demonstrated excellent leadership qualities. In addition to her academic success, Abbigail is an active member in various extra-curricular activities such as DeRoux House, Speech and Drama Club, and the Hispanic Culture Society.

Lianne M. Herah is a 2017 Principal's Merit Award winner whose hard work and drive are commended by her parents, teachers, and principal. Her teachers describe Lianne as a responsible student who works well with others. She has excelled in English Language and English Literature, receiving A’s in both classes. Lianne has participated as an active member in the Food and Nutrition Club, and recently joined the basketball team, while remaining active, and dedicated in the classroom. She displays the determination and passion to further her education and is grateful for the support of the Douglas & Friends Foundation Scholarship.

DFF has been working with schools for many years, and have determined that as of 2019, the average cost to support one (1) student for books, tuition, uniforms, and exam fees amounts to approximately $300 USD per year.

With a donation of just $25 per month, you can help to support a student for the entire academic year and help them to succeed by having fewer things to worry about. DFF will always take whatever you have to offer, but we do hope you will consider fully sponsoring a student.
